Once again there's truth in advertising. These are exactly as the name suggests - doughnuts that have been simply cooked in hot butter - and boy are they good.
Ingredients
- 16 glazed doughnut holes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 lemon wedge
- 1 pint really good vanilla ice cream
- 1/4 cup caramel/butterscotch sauce, warmed
- Powdered sugar for garnish
Directions
- Slice each hole in half
- Melt butter in a non stick pan and add doughnuts
- Cook on all sides but especially with the flat side down so they get brown, caramelized and crispy
- Squeeze on lemon juice just before removing from pan
- Serve with ice cream, drizzled with caramel/butterscotch sauce and dusted with powdered sugar
